Bishop Larry Silva celebrated the Mass of the Lord’s Supper at the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace on the evening of April 9. A small number of clergy and lay ministers were in attendance, and the Mass was broadcast live at hictv.com and on the cathedral’s Facebook page.
At its peak, 780-plus people watched the hictv.com livestream of the Mass. Another 310 were recorded at the peak of the Facebook livestream, though some of those viewers seemed to switch to hictv.com when the Facebook livestream was temporarily interrupted.
The washing of the feet rite that normally takes place at this Mass did not happen this year following Vatican guidelines aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19.
